AMP DJ/BAND HYBRID recently had the honor of being featured in major media news outlets!! The last week of 2020 has been a whirlwind for us, and I wanted to share with you just how all of this came about along with links to all the latest AMP NEWS!
As many of you know, the music industry has been hard hit due to the pandemic. Almost everything we do as musicians requires people to come together and gather. While my husband, Jimmy, and I have been in the wedding industry for over twenty years, AMP DJ/BAND HYBRID is our baby – a brand new venture launched in the midst of a global pandemic! Jimmy felt that our story would be very relatable to the many people that have been struggling during this bizarre time and finding ways to create something positive out of it.
In addition, I was booked to sing background for legendary GRAMMY Award winning Queen of Disco, Gloria Gaynor in Times Square for Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve! I have been one of Gloria’s backup singers for seven years now. She dedicated her anthem, “I Will Survive”, to all of the first responders and frontline workers who deserve our respect and praise always, but even more so right now in the unprecedented times we are living in.
“I Will Survive” has been empowering people for generations with a message of strength in the face of adversity. The iconic anthem is a message of hope and faith that we will SURVIVE anything that life throws at us. I couldn’t imagine a more fitting way to cap off what we have all been going through in 2020.
Jimmy was inspired to reach out to a few local news sources and the next thing you know our phones were ringing off the hook and we were doing newspaper and T.V. interviews! Talk about starting the new year off with a bang!!!
The first to reach out to us was a local paper, The Long Island Advance. Writer, Nicole Fuentes did a great job with this article featuring AMP DJ/BAND HYBRID!
Next was Newsday!! Writer, Rafer Guzmán wrote this awesome article! Fun Fact: Jimmy & I took our wedding photos at this local beach on the Great South Bay. It’s one of our favorite spots to hang out where we live.
Next we were tapped to do an interview with News12 Long Island’s Shonna Narine!!!
The very same day we were scheduled with News12, I received a call from CBS News reporter, Jenna Deangelis!!! She did this amazing piece on Gloria Gaynor and AMP DJ/BAND HYBRID!!!!
Okay, it was officially a media blitz! Who knew Jimmy missed his calling as a publicist?!
He was really on a roll now.. I even overheard him on the phone calling CNN asking the robot operator to connect him to Don Lemon!

The day before New Year’s Eve we were contacted by two more media outlets!! The Patch and The Glen Cove Herald Gazette!! Thank you to Peggy Spellman Hoey and Jennifer Corr for these wonderful articles featuring AMP DJ/BAND HYBRID!!!

We are truly grateful for all of the interest in our new venture and in my amazing journey with the one and only Ms. Gloria Gaynor! AMP DJ/BAND HYBRID’s story has just begun and we can’t wait to see where it leads us! We are moving into 2021 full of hope and excitement for all the good things the future holds for us all!!
